In a letter distributed at the event, Washington Governor Jay Inslee stressed the importance of the state’s manufacturing sector: “The manufacturing industry employs nearly 9 percent of our state’s workforce,” he wrote, “providing good, family-wage jobs. This is a diverse industry, and your skill and innovation will continue to play a key role in our economic recovery and long-term success.”
